Mushroom Sauce for Steak
This thick creamy mushroom sauce, cooked with spring onions and a touch of mustard, is perfect to serve over a juicy steak or two. It is just as tasty slathered over some warm crusty bread.
Preparation time 5 minutes
Cooking time 12 minutes
1 Heat the oil and butter in the sauces pan over medium heat, add the mushrooms and garlic and fry for up to 8 minutes until the mushrooms are slightly browned.
2 Quickly stir in the spring onions and fry for 1 minute.
3 Add the wine and cook for another minute.
4 Stir in the mustard and cream, reduce heat and simmer for couple of minutes or until the sauce thickens.
5 Adjust seasoning and serve over your steaks or with some bread.
