This thick creamy mushroom sauce, cooked with spring onions and a touch of mustard, is perfect to serve over a juicy steak or two. It is just as tasty slathered over some warm crusty bread.

Mushroom Sauce for Steak

Ingredients
2 tsp olive oil
2 tsp melted butter
150 g button mushrooms
sliced
1 clove garlic
minced
4 spring onions
thinly sliced
3 tbsp white wine
1 tsp grainy mustard
150 ml double cream
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
1Heat the oil and butter in the sauces pan over medium heat, add the mushrooms and garlic and fry for up to 8 minutes until the mushrooms are slightly browned
2Quickly stir in the spring onions and fry for 1 minute
3Add the wine and cook for another minute
4Stir in the mustard and cream, reduce heat and simmer for couple of minutes or until the sauce thickens
5Adjust seasoning and serve over your steaks or with some bread.
