Start your day off right with this delicious and wholesome vegan almond milk porridge. Not only does it help keep you full and satisfied, but it also helps to curb those mid-morning toast cravings.

150g porridge oats

900ml almond milk

Pinch of salt

Maple syrup

Seeds from one pomegranate

Fruit of your choice (we used Blueberries)


1Put the porridge oats, milk and salt in the saucepan and mix

2Bring porridge to the boil and reduce to a simmer for 5 - 6 mins stirring regularly so that you get a creamy porridge

3To serve pour porridge into bowls and top with maple syrup, pomegranate seeds and extra fruit.

This recipe is easily customizable, so if you prefer a runnier porridge, simply add more milk. If you're not following a vegan diet, you can easily switch out the almond milk for cow's milk, or if you are looking for a nut-free porridge option swap it out for another non-dairy milk alternative like soya milk.
