Ingredients

50g melted butter

700ml lukewarm milk

2 tsp vanilla extract

1kg strong bread flour

sifted

6 tsp easy bake dried yeast

1 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp caster sugar

2 tsp salt

1 egg beaten

Instructions

1Mix the milk, butter and the vanilla together in a jug

2Combine the flour, yeast, cinnamon, sugar and salt in a large bowl

3Make a hole in the dry ingredients and pour in the liquid and mix until it forms a dough

4Transfer the cinnamon vanilla dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 mins

5Return the dough to the bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hr or until it doubles on size

6Then tip the dough back onto the flour surface, knead it again and then cut into 30 rolls. To make them heart shaped, roll each bit into a drumstick shape (i.e. fat on one end and skinny on the other end). Make a 3 cm cut into the fat end, slightly press down to flatten and emphasize each heart shape and transfer the shaped buns unto a lined baking tray, cover and let then rise for about 30 minutes

7Preheat the oven to fan assisted 180C / 200C / Gas 6

8Glaze each bun with the egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until done

9Serve with some jam, cream and a hot drink.
