50g melted butter700ml lukewarm milk2 tsp vanilla extract1kg strong bread flour sifted6 tsp easy bake dried yeast1 tsp ground cinnamon2 tbsp caster sugar2 tsp salt1 egg beaten
Instructions
- Mix the milk, butter and the vanilla together in a jug
- Combine the flour, yeast, cinnamon, sugar and salt in a large bowl
- Make a hole in the dry ingredients and pour in the liquid and mix until it forms a dough
- Transfer the cinnamon vanilla dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 mins
- Return the dough to the bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hr or until it doubles on size
- Then tip the dough back onto the flour surface, knead it again and then cut into 30 rolls. Make a 3 cm cut into the fat end, slightly press down to flatten and emphasize each heart shape and transfer the shaped buns unto a lined baking tray, cover and let then rise for about 30 minutes
- Preheat the oven to fan assisted 180C / 200C / Gas 6
- Glaze each bun with the egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until done
- Serve with some jam, cream and a hot drink.
