Put pasta on the menu tonight with these five easy family-friendly pasta recipes. If you’re not sure what to make your family for dinner, pasta is usually the answer. This store cupboard staple isn’t just tasty, it’s versatile too. You can throw a handful of fusilli into a soup to give it a bit of bulk, bake it into a tasty lasagne or even make a risotto-type dish out of orzo.

It’s one of our favourite ingredients to cook (and eat!) which is why we’ve put together this list featuring a few of our most loved recipes. Whether you’re hankering after spaghetti and meatballs or looking to whip up a perfectly ooey gooey macaroni cheese, you’re sure to find something here to satisfy your pasta cravings.

Easy pasta dishes

You can never go wrong with a good pasta bake, and The Last Food Blog’s Broccoli Pasta Bake is ‘creamy, cheesy and crunchy’ (three of our favourite things!) We really like her idea of adding panko breadcrumbs on top to add a bit of texture. You can find these in most major supermarkets, but you can easily make your own from stale bread grated on a Fine Coarse Grater if you can’t get your hands on them.

Our Easy Peasy Pasta is exactly that - easy peasy! Made from store cupboard essentials, it can be whipped up in a big casserole dish in under half an hour. And while the no-cook tomato sauce cuts down on time, it certainly doesn't cut down on taste. We’d recommend making plenty so you can have it for lunch and dinner - and maybe even breakfast if you’re feeling adventurous! Spaghetti and meatballs is always a family favourite. We love Olive Magazine’s simple recipe featuring meatballs made out of sausage meat. The anchovies add a nice punch of rich umami flavour, while the lemon zest provides zinginess to the sauce. ,

Indulgent pasta dishes

Nothing beats a big bowl of pasta at the end of a long day - preferably eaten in our pyjamas in front of our favourite new Netflix show. And if we’re looking for something indulgent, we’ll always opt for Nigella Lawson’s Sweet Potato Macaroni Cheese. She describes it as being ‘the best macaroni cheese’ she’s ever eaten and it’s hard to disagree. While adding sweet potato to mac and cheese doesn’t sound like the most obvious of flavour combinations, the two work perfectly together. The ooey gooey cheese combines with the starchy sweet potato to create a dish which is so much more than the sum of its parts.

If you fancy taking on a cooking project this weekend, get out that roaster, because it’s time to bake a gigantic lasagne. There are a million and one lasagne recipes out there and they’re all delicious. Jamie Oliver’s Classic Family Lasagne features an easy ragu made from minced beef, minced pork and bacon - the perfect traditional lasagne recipe. If you’re looking for something which is heavier on the vegetables, try his Ultimate Veggie Lasagne - it’s packed full of pesto, vegetables and pulses, making it the most delicious way to get your five a day! Have you and your family been cooking some perfect pasta recipes recently? If so, we’d love to see them! Post your pictures in our Facebook community or tag @YourPrestigeKitchen on Instagram.
